NEET 2020 Exam Date Announced by MHRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank
The new exam date for NEET 2020 is July 26, 2020. MHRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal
Nishank officially notified the new date on his web conference on May 5, 2020. The
initial reaction on social media is positive about this date as most students had
requested a July exam date. From the date of announcement, more than 2 months are
left for the exam. Thus, students have a comfortable time gap to prepare, though
as of now, all studies have to be majorly self-studies only. MHRD and NTA are the
final decision making bodies on the exam date. The former has tentatively decided
to hold the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, India’s only medical entrance
exam at the UG level, in July.
Is this the final exam date for NEET 2020?
If all things go as planned, then yes, this is the final exam date for NEET UG 2020
exam. However it is believed that MHRD and NTA will continue to monitor the situation
and keep updating students on developments. Nevertheless, students should, on priority,
start focusing on their exam preparations as this exam date is a final one as of
now. It is recommended to not expect any further delays in the exam, and prepare
with 2 months timeline in mind. Best of luck!

[Very Important] List of items to take to the exam center + Dress Code
Of course preparation for NEET 2020 is the most important thing right now. However
all the preparations will be futile if a single mistake is made on the day of the
exam. NEET is a crucial exam and is held amidst tight security. So take note of
what to take and what not to take to the exam center, and dress code.
Must Take To Exam Center | Must Not Take To Exam Center |
- NEET 2020 admit card with passport size photo fixed on it
- 1 passport size photograph (other than the one in admit card)
- Original, valid photo ID proof

| any kind of paper, stationery, textual material (printed or written material), any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices, calculator, camera, docupen, eatables and water (loose or packed), electronic watches with facilities of calculator, geometry or pencil box, handbag, instruments, log tables, mobile phone, ear phone, microphone, pager, purse, slide rules, tape recorder. |

getting late for the exam.
NEET 2020
Preparation Strategy
Well, well, well. Now less than 2 months are left for NEET 2020. Before we dive
into how to do preparation in the last two months, you need to answer one question.
What is your target for NEET 2020?
Is it 500? 550? 600? 650? 700? Or 100%!
If your answer is anything less than 700, please coax yourself in increasing your
target first. Why? Because you are going to be a DOCTOR. And doctors are expected
to be THE BEST. The career option you have chosen is one where lives depend upon
you. So start being the doctor the world needs from today, and you will definitely
surpass your limits!
Now, coming back to Earth. What should be your preparation strategy? Here it goes!
#1. NCERT is your God for NEET exam.
Whether you believe in a higher power or are an atheist, at least for now, NCERT
textbooks are going to be everything for you. You should know them cover to cover,
including the blue boxes, exercises and everything else.
Besides that, only 1-2 books per subject for NTA NEET UG should be referred for
MCQs practice.
You cannot solve 1-2 books completely in last 2 months, this ought to be your practice
from the beginning. But in whatever time left, do practice as many MCQs as you can
on all topics.
#2. Give time to your strengths and weaknesses intelligently.
Only you will know which topics from the NEET 2020 syllabus you are good at (those where you
can answer 90%+ questions always easily), and ones you are weak in (cannot solve
50% questions easily). With little time left, the best way to overcome your weaknesses
is to GO TO A TEACHER TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND
THE TOPICS YOU ARE WEAK IN.
And as far as the strengths are concerned, keep practicing them so that they guarantee
you 100% marks.
#3. Must solve past year NEET papers.
This point cannot be stressed enough. It is crucial to solve previous year question
papers of NEET exam. Note that before NEET, the exam name was AIPMT. You should
solve those papers too. Over the years, the difficulty level has varied, and sometimes
topics too, but more or less the paper has been fluctuating around the same parameters.
In the last 2 months, solve at least 10 past year question papers.
#4. Solve sample papers and mock tests of NEET exam.
Just like past year papers, sample papers help you on the following grounds
- You are mentally prepared about the exam pattern of NEET 2020 difficulty level.
- You can
analyse your preparation.
- And, you build your speed and accuracy levels!
#5. Win the mental battle!
When you have to solve 180 questions in 180 minutes, you need to keep your wits
about you. Getting tensed and panicked just negates all your hard work and preparation
of god knows how many years you have put into it.
And honestly, NEET 2020 preparation is difficult, but being mentally strong and
confident in the face of the exam pressure is more difficult.
To handle this, you must (a) Surround yourself with positive people
and stay away from negative people. (b) Do not compare yourself
with others. (c) Do not procrastinate and just do your best everyday.
Sure shot way of boosting your confidence:
On a big chart paper write why you want to be a doctor. And whenever you are feeling
low, look at it and motivate yourself to achieve that goal!
Last but not the least, know the exam pattern and syllabus. Both are available here.

NEET 2020 was postponed due to the global pandemic. Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal

the official notification in March. Whereas earlier the NEET 2020 exam date was
May 3, 2020, and

these events are now to be on new dates.
The notice reads as follows:

In view of the hardships faced by the parents and the students due to COVID-19 epidemic,
the National Testing Agency has postponed the ensuing NEET 2020 Exam Date to be

We are hopeful that we would get back to normal situation relatively soon; but for
now, various concerned Ministries and Examination Boards are examining the scenario
to evaluate the situation that may necessitate any change in the schedule. As of
now the neet 2020 exam date is proposed to be held in the last week on May 2020.
Exact date will be announced later on after assessing the situation.
Accordingly, the NEET 2020 Admit Cards for the Examination which were to be issued
on 27th March 2020 will now be issued later on after assessing the situation after
15th April 2020 only.
We understand that academic calendar and schedule is important, but equally important
is well being of every citizen including students.
NTA would expect students and parents to not worry about the Examination.
Moreover, parents are requested to help young students utilize this time for preparing
for the Examination and focus on critical concepts in order to close learning gaps
if any. NTA would keep students updated about the latest developments and would
inform about neet 2020 exam date changes with ample time.
The candidates and their parents are advised to keep visiting ntancet.nic.in and
www.nta.ac.in for latest updates. They are also being informed individually through
their registered mobile number/ email-id. The candidates can also contact at 8700028512,
